Angizem 180 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of chest pain (Angina) and high blood pressure.

Common

Side Effects of Angizem are Headache, Dizziness, Palpitations, Nausea, Dyspepsia, Fatigue, Stomach pain, Feeling of discomfort, Peripheral edema, Slow heart rate, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Redness of skin, Constipation.

How to use Angizem Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Angizem 180 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Angizem Tablet works

Angizem 180 mg Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It blocks the action of calcium on the heart and blood vessels, thereby widening the blood vessels and allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the heart. This reduces blood pressure and decreases the chances of angina (chest pain).

  • This helps prevent angina attacks (chest pain caused by heart disease), certain abnormal heart rhythms, stroke and heart attack.
  • Angizem 180 mg Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
  • It may cause you to feel lightheaded or weak especially when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension).  Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. 
  • It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking Angizem 180 mg Tablet as it may make the side effects worse.
  • Do not stop taking Angizem 180 mg Tablet suddenly without talking to your doctor first.

Driving
Angizem 180 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Angizem 180 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Angizem 180 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advised while you are taking this medicine.
Liver
CAUTION
Angizem 180 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Angizem 180 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
