Product introduction

Angiten 25mg Tablet can be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken empty stomach. This medicine should be taken at the same time each day to get the most benefit. It is important to continue taking it regularly even if you feel well or even if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse.

Making some changes in your lifestyle will also help lower your blood pressure. These may include regular exercise, losing weight, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol intake, and reducing the amount of salt in your diet as advised by your doctor. The most common side effects of this medicine include decreased blood pressure, cough, increased potassium level in blood, fatigue, weakness, and dizziness. Most of these are temporary and resolve with time. Talk to your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or do not go away.

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any kidney or liver problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor may check your kidney function, blood pressure, and potassium levels in your blood at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Angiten with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Tacrolimus (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your kidney function and potassium levels closely.

Azathioprine (Oral Route)

Caution is advised when taking Captopril with Azathioprine. Your doctor may monitor your blood cell counts frequently. Captopril may increase the rate of release of Azathioprine in the blood.

Co-trimoxazole (Oral Route)

Do not consume Captopril with Co-trimoxazole. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor. They may monitor your potassium levels closely.

Eplerenone (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue, cramps, nausea, vomiting, tingling, numbness or irregular heartbeat and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may also monitor your potassium levels closely.

Do not consume Captopril with Spironolactone in case of kidney disorders. If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may closely monitor your kidney function and adjust or discontinue the medicines accordingly.

Exercise regularly and take a balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and fat-free products. Angiten 25mg Tablet may increase potassium levels in the blood, especially if you have uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, kidney problems and dehydration. Potassium levels may also increase in patients using potassium salts or medicines which increase potassium levels or are aged more than 70 years of age. If you have any of these conditions and are using Angiten 25mg Tablet, you need to be careful and get regular blood tests done to monitor potassium levels.
Angiten 25mg Tablet may cause dry cough, as a side effect in some people. This can be persistent and may not be relieved by any medicine. Talk to your doctor if it bothers you or if you have trouble sleeping. Your doctor may suggest ways of managing the cough or may prescribe another medicine. Remember, do not stop taking Angiten 25mg Tablet without consulting your doctor as it may increase your blood pressure and put you at a risk of developing a heart attack or stroke. Even if you stop taking Angiten 25mg Tablet, the cough may take a few days to a month to resolve completely.
There is no evidence that Angiten 25mg Tablet has any effect on fertility in both men and women. However, if you are planning to get pregnant, talk to your doctor first because Angiten 25mg Tablet is not recommended in pregnancy.
