How to use Altok Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Altok 1 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Altok Tablet works

Altok 1 mg Tablet is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Altok 1 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Altok 1 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Altok 1 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Altok 1 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Altok Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Altok 1 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

I,m patient of Panic disorder & AnxietyI have an addition of escitalopram 20 mg, 150 mg imipramine, 1mg clonazipam daily from last 15 years.Im not satisfied with these doses. Perhaps i needed some more potency or change of medicines.

Relaxation techniques and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can be offered as adjunct to treatment. Clonazepam is not prescribed for prolonged periods as tolerance develops to its effect and the efficacy is lost.
