Interaction with drugs

Taking Alex with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Life-threatening

Moclobemide (Oral Route)

Do not consume Moclobemide with Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Moclobemide may decrease the metabolism of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide.
Life-threatening

Tranylcypromine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Tranylcypromine with Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. If Tranylcypromine is essential, ensure a gap of at least 2 weeks after discontinuing Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Please consult your doctor.
Severe

Ziprasidone (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly.

Desvenlafaxine (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nervousness, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly. Desvenlafaxine may raise blood levels of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide.

Vortioxetine (Oral Route)

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly.

Dextromethorphan is a decongestant and not a steroid, antihistamine, opiate, NSAID or narcotic, but can have addictive effects if taken at large doses than recommended. It does not contain codeine or alcohol. It is not a controlled substance
