Actorise 25 Injection is a medicine that needs to be used with utmost care because it can lead to serious side effects. It is given under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

It may cause side effects like high blood pressure and hypersensitivity. Inform your doctor if there are symptoms of very high blood pressure such as severe headache, problems with your eyesight, nausea, vomiting, or fits (seizures).

Your doctor may get your blood tests done regularly to monitor the levels of salts (electrolytes such as potassium), hemoglobin, and blood cells in your blood. You should stop taking it and consult with a doctor if you develop shortness of breath or skin rash.

Actorise 25 Injection stimulates the production of red blood cells in bone marrow and regulates the haemoglobin in the blood. This treats anemia in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.

Anemia is a condition where your body does not have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen around your body. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) refers to the loss of normal kidney function over a long span of time. CKD progresses gradually over a few years but may become permanent if left untreated. CKD can lead to anemia. Actorise 25 Injection can boost your levels of red blood cells and reduce the symptoms of anemia such as tiredness and weakness. Taking this injection improves the quality of life.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Actorise with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Moderate

Thalidomide (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, unusual paleness, easy bruising or bleeding and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations. Darbepoetin alfa may raise blood levels of Thalidomide.

Moderate

Pomalidomide (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as unusual bleeding, swelling in one leg or arm, new or worsening chest pain or sudden shortness of breath and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations.

Moderate

Lenalidomide (Oral Route)

Avoid combination if possible; if concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor for signs of clotting.

Mild

Telmisartan (Oral Route)

Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure and potassium levels during the simultaneous use of these medicines. Telmisartan may reduce efficacy of Darbepoetin alfa.

Losartan (Oral Route)

Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure and potassium levels during the simultaneous use of these medicines. Losartan may reduce efficacy of Darbepoetin alfa.

Who should not take Actorise 25 Injection?

Individuals who have cancer but have not been prescribed Actorise 25 Injection by the doctor should not take it. Additionally, patients with uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure), patients with a history of anemia called pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) that starts after treatment with Actorise 25 Injection or other erythropoietin medicines, and patients with a history of serious allergic reaction to this medicine should not take this medicine.
