Earlier any licensed physician used to do this procedure, however; nowadays there are hair transplant surgeons who have experience and are dedicated for this treatment. There are different transplant options available, hence it is advised to consult your surgeon about the pros and cons of the procedure before getting it done.
The two common methods for the transplant are:
Follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS)
Follicular unit extraction (FUE)

Dermatologists: They help you to identify any topical skin conditions that might be responsible for hair loss and recommend medicines to promote hair growth.
Endocrinologists: These experts help you to detect and diagnose hormonal imbalances (if any), which could be the cause of severe hair loss and other associated hair problems.
