1. Coconut Oil

How to use

Soak and scrub your feet in warm water before going to bed. Dry your feet and apply coconut oil. Wear a pair of clean socks. Wash your feet in the morning with soap and water. Follow these steps on a regular basis to get the best results.

2. Banana And Avocado

Banana is not only rich in nutrients but is packed with water, which can make your skin supple, soft and smooth. Avocados contain several essential oils, vitamins and fats that repair dry skin. When used together, banana and avocado can prove to be a great remedy for cracked heels.

How to use

Blend one banana and half avocado in a mixer. Apply this mixture to your heels and feet. Keep it on for 10 to 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

3. Vinegar

Vinegar contains acetic acid which is mild in nature and acts gently on your feet. However, applying it directly can dry up your skin further and hence, it is always advised to dilute it before use.

How to use

Add ¼ cup vinegar to around 2-3 litres of water in a tub/bucket.  Soak your feet in this solution for 5 to 10 minutes. Wash your feet with normal water and pat dry. Apply any moisturizer. Do not use this remedy more than 2 times a week.

4. Paraffin Wax

This treatment is particularly helpful if there are wide fissures in your heels that are painful or cause bleeding. Paraffin wax and mustard oil are used as ointment for cracked heels. Normal wax can also be used but one has to prefer white candle wax as colored wax may intensify the pain.

How to use

Heat about 1 cup of mustard oil in a pan. Add 2 tablespoon of wax to it and keep on stirring the mixture until the wax melts properly. When this mixture gets warm enough to be tolerated by your skin, apply it to your feet. Wear socks over it and leave it overnight. Rinse with lukewarm water in the morning. Use this treatment for around 7 to 10 days to effective results.

5. Lemon and papaya

It contains acetic acid which takes off the dead skin leaving your skin smooth and soft. It is also an exfoliator which can help you get rid of heel fissures. It is often used with papaya on the skin to get the best results. You can even use only lemon juice to get rid of cracked heels.

How to use

Prepare a paste of lemon and papaya and apply it to your heels. Let it remain for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with cold water afterwards. Another way is to squeeze a lemon into a basin of water and soak for 20 minutes.

6. Rosewater And Glycerin

Rosewater contains Vitamins A, B3, C, D, and E and also has antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties. Glycerin is a known moisturizer and helps to soften the skin. The combination thus, does wonders for cracked heels.

How to use

Mix equal amounts of glycerin and rose water. Rub it on your heels every night before going to bed. Do this on a regular basis for soft and smooth feet.
