When it comes to losing weight, there never really seems to be a one prefect way. Every person is different and so the manner in which the body responds to various weight losing practices varies from person to person. But it is important to remember that routine exercise and a healthy diet plan are the basis of any weight loss program. You must exercise for atleast 45 minutes daily to help you lose weight. This should be coupled with a healthy and balanced diet that is rich in carbohydrates, healthy fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals. Diet plays a vital role in shedding those extra kilos and keeping them from coming back.

Here are certain foods you must avoid in order to let that diet work and to help

you lose weight in a healthy way.

1 . Fruit Juices

Packaged and processed fruit juices contain large amount of sucrose and fructose and are devoid of fiber. Sucrose content induces or enhances carvings and that is not the best thing if you are on a diet. An addition of a fruit with your regular meals would provide the necessary fiber and sugars required by the body.

2 . Salad Dressings

Salads on their own make for a great snack or even a meal. Addition of a dressing such as mayonnaise, ranch, cheese etc., defeats the very purpose of attempting to regulate calorie intake. Stop dressing your salads and opt for something simpler. A pinch of salt, olive oil and lemon juice should do the trick.

3 . Soy Sauce

Soy sauce enhances taste but it has a high sodium content and will cause bloating of your belly and reduce the pace at which fats are being burned. Apart from this, Soy is also known to cause hypertension/ high blood pressure because of the high sodium content.

4 . Low Fat Foods

Low fat foods decrease the perception of calories and increase the perceptions of serving sizes. Keep a track of the amount of low fat food you consume or it is best to cease consuming them altogether.

5 . Dairy Products

Dairy and dairy products such as cheese, butter, ice cream are high in cholesterol and saturated fats. They have been known to induce disorders such as chronic obesity as saturated fats are difficult to breakdown. Cut down on dairy products to keep a check on your weight.

6 . Alcohol

Beer and other alcoholic products contain empty calories. The body is unable to break down large continuous intakes of calories which is then stored as fats. For most people it is stored around the waistline but this may differ.  This can reduce metabolic rate thus causing metabolic syndrome and other disorders. Avoid beer, but if you must indulge, opt for a light beer instead.

7 . Flavored Soda/ Artificially Sweetened Drinks

Diet sodas are said to be calorie free but they are packed with artificial sweeteners.  Mind your consumption of diet soda as artificial sweeteners increase one’s cravings thus making you want to eat more. Keep it simple, water is the best source of hydration.
