Color Doppler Penile

Penile color doppler test, also known as penile doppler ultrasonography, is an imaging procedure usually recommended for men with penile diseases. It is a non-invasive (or minimally invasive test) that allows complete evaluation of the penile anatomy. This test is commonly used to evaluate pathologic conditions of the penis such as erectile dysfunction, priapism, as well as penile trauma, scarring, deformity and tumor. It also helps to determine the cause of erectile dysfunction and also to check for postoperative changes of the penis.

In this, a medicine that induces penile erection is injected directly into the penis which causes dilation of the arteries and increases blood flow into the organ. This will help evaluate the degree of erection, blood flow through the arteries, and degree of venous outflow.
