BRAF V600 Mutation Analysis

The BRAF gene regulates cell growth and is often mutated in various cancers. A common mutation (V600) occurs in the kinase domain, especially in melanoma cases. Testing BRAF mutation status helps identify patients who may benefit from BRAF-inhibitor therapy in melanoma and aids prognosis in colorectal cancer. This assay screens for V600 variation in exon 15 of the BRAF gene using Real-time PCR technology.
