Give Trimox 100mg Drop either with or without food but it is best to give it with food if it upsets your child’s stomach. It is generally given two to three times a day. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor as these depend on the severity of the infection, its type, and your child’s body weight and age. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, repeat the dose when your child feels better. However, do not double the dose if it is the time for the next dose.

Trimox 100mg Drop can cause some minor and temporary side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and mild skin rash. These side effects should ideally subside on their own. But, in case these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without a delay.

Tell your child’s doctor if your child has had any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung anomaly, gastrointestinal problem, skin disorder, and kidney malfunction. Knowledge of your child’s medical history will help the doctor make dose alterations and plan your child’s overall treatment.

Trimox 100mg Drop is also given to eradicate H. Pylori bacteria which is responsible for causing peptic ulcers in children. For peptic ulcers, it is generally given in combination with other medicines for around 10-14 days. Keep giving Trimox 100mg Drop to your child as prescribed for it to be effective, even if the symptoms seem to disappear.

Trimox 100mg Drop is a versatile antibiotic medicine which can be used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria. These include infections of the blood, brain, lungs, bones, joints, urinary tract, stomach and intestines. It can also be used to treat gum ulcers and other dental infections (abscesses), leg ulcers and pressure sores. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria causing the infection.

This medicine usually makes you feel better quite quickly. However, you should continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant. This medicine is generally safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding, but you should ask your doctor.

Trimox 100mg Drop does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. How Trimox Drop works

Trimox 100mg Drop is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine kills the infection-causing bacteria and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.

Quick tips

Complete the entire course of antibiotics without stopping the medicine in between. Doing so may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Make sure your child drinks plenty of water if they develop diarrhea as a side effect.
Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions.
Give Trimox 100mg Drop to your child only for their current infection. Avoid storing the medicine for future use as it is impossible to judge whether the same medicine would work for any future illnesses.
Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
Trimox 100mg Drop is used to treat infections caused by bacteria.
Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Taking probiotics along with Trimox 100mg Drop may help. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps.
Take it with food and plenty of fluids to avoid an upset stomach.
Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.

Taking Trimox with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine (Injection Route)

Amoxycillin may reduce the efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine. Amoxycillin may reduce the efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Severe

Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) (Oral Route)

Do not consume Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) two weeks before and at least 10 days after consuming Amoxycillin. Please consult your doctor. Amoxycillin may reduce the efficacy of Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated).

Moderate

Acenocoumarol (Oral Route)

Your doctor may monitor the blood's clotting ability within 3 days of starting or discontinuing Amoxycillin.

Phenindione (Oral Route)

Giving your child Trimox 100mg Drop for a long term can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe gastrointestinal infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own and give Trimox 100mg Drop to your child exactly as prescribed. Additionally, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Trimox 100mg Drop can make the bacteria resistant.
