Throx 50 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

How to use Throx Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Throx 50 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Throx Tablet works

Throx 50 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

  • Throx 50 mg Tablet will cure your infection and improve symptoms.

Driving
Throx 50 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Throx 50 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Throx 50 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver

Q. Is Throx an antibiotic?
Throx is an antibiotic and belongs to the group of antibiotics known as macrolides. Throx prevents bacteria from growing, by interfering with their protein synthesis.
Q. Can I take Throx with food?
Throx is to be taken on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before a meal. The Throx tablets should be taken with good amount of water.
Q. Does Throx treat streptococcal throat infection?
Throx is used to treat throat infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. It is also indicated for other upper respiratory tract infections like tonsillitis and sinusitis. Throx is active against chlamydia species and is used for the treatment of infections caused by chlamydia. Please consult your doctor before taking any treatment if you have been diagnosed with chlamydial infection.
