Spexib Capsule should be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

Fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are some common side effects of this medicine. Some serious side effects that might occur which need doctor consultation include tiredness, itchy skin, yellowing of your skin, and chest pain or discomfort, changes in your heartbeat. Your doctor may perform some blood tests before and after the treatment to check for liver, or blood sugar level.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

  • Monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking this medication. Inform your doctor if you notice symptoms of very high blood pressure such as severe headache, confusion, problems with your eyesight, nausea or vomiting.
  • It may cause serious bleeding problem. Inform your doctor if you get headaches, stomach pain or if you notice blood in your urine or stools.

Spexib Capsule is a cancer medicine that contains the active substance ceritinib. It is used to treat patients with anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene is present in all the cells. When it loses its original structure, it changes its normal behavior and multiplies abnormally, causing lung cancer. This type of lung cancer is called ALK-positive NSCLC.
Spexib Capsule treat ALK-positive NSCLC that has spread to other parts of the body. By blocking the activity of the abnormal ALK gene, it shrinks the tumor and also stops its further growth.
Take this medicine on an empty stomach, do not eat for 2 hours before, and do not eat for 2 hours after taking Spexib Capsule. Talk to your doctor in case of any doubts.
Keep taking this medicine exactly as directed until your doctor tells you to stop. Regular scans will reveal whether your tumor is responding to the treatment. Your doctor will determine when those scans should be scheduled.
Yes, some people may develop serious side effects after taking this medicine. These may include fast or irregular heart rate, chest pain, lung inflammation (pneumonitis), liver disease, or severe diarrhea. Your doctor may need to adjust your treatment or stop Spexib Capsule temporarily or permanently.
If you develop liver problems while taking this medicine, you must look for some signs and symptoms. These may include excessive tiredness, yellowish discoloration of your skin or white portion of the eyes, dark or brown urine, nausea, vomiting, or decreased appetite. Additionally, you may develop itching, easy bruising, and also pain on the right side of your stomach. In case you observe any of these, you should consult your doctor without any delay.
Yes, this medicine might cause inflammation of the lungs (called pneumonitis). It is advisable to notify your doctor right away if you develop any new or worsening symptoms, including shortness of breath, trouble breathing, cough, or fever.
Food items with soluble fiber can help relieve diarrhea as they help absorb excess fluid from the body. These food items include bananas (ripe), orange, boiled potatoes, white rice, curd, and oatmeal. Diarrhea can cause dehydration in the body, so drink 8-10 glasses of water to avoid dehydration. You can also have soups and juice frequently to hydrate yourself.
