Sofyllin M 400mg/10mg Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat and prevent asthma. It helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thus widening them and making it easier to breathe. It also relieves allergy symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, throat irritation, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness.


Sofyllin M 400mg/10mg Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking, as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.


The most common side effects of Sofyllin M 400mg/10mg Tablet are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, insomnia, irritability, increased heart rate, and flu-like symptoms. Avoid Sofyllin M 400mg/10mg Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.

How Sofyllin M Tablet works

Sofyllin M 400mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of two drugs. Doxofylline is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing and widening the muscles in the airways. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that blocks the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.

Quick tips

  • Take it at the same time each day, preferably in the evening after food.
  • Do not use it to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty breathing.
  • Notify your doctor if you smoke or have a viral infection. Your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • Do not stop using it without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.
