Introduction of Sizlac Tablet

Sizlac 150 mg Tablet is an anti-epileptic medicine. It is used alone or in combination with other similar medicines to treat and prevent seizures/fits. It is not advisable to stop this medicine abruptly without consulting your doctor as it may increase the occurrence of fits.

How to use Sizlac Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sizlac 150 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Sizlac Tablet works

Sizlac 150 mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Pregnancy

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Sizlac 150 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Sizlac 150 mg Tablet may cause dizziness or blurred vision. This may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Sizlac 150 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Sizlac 150 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Sizlac 150 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Sizlac 150 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Sizlac 150 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Sizlac Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Sizlac 150 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Recita forte contains clonazepam Clonazepam is used to treat fits (epilepsy or seizures) and sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear, and worry about these attacks (panic disorder) with or without the fear of public places (agoraphobia).
i am using insulin injection + fiaus 15 tablet , now sugar level is good, is there alternative medicine to stop such medicines? i am consuming tablets to prevent epilepsy too, past 3 years i don't have epilepsy is there any alternative medicines to prevent?

Q. I have been taking Sizlac since nine months and did not have any episode of seizure. Can I stop taking it now?

No, you should not stop taking Sizlac even if you start feeling better. Stopping this medicine suddenly may lead to seizures which will be difficult to control. Talk to your doctor if you have any problems with Sizlac. The doctor will reduce the dose gradually.

Q. Is it safe to drive if I am taking Sizlac?

No, you need to be careful while driving or operating heavy machinery until and unless you know how Sizlac affects you. Sizlac may cause dizziness or drowsiness and blurred vision, which is more when you start treatment and when the dose is increased.

Q. What should I do if I forget a dose of Sizlac?

If you miss a dose within 6 hours of the scheduled time, take it immediately and then take the next dose at the regular scheduled time. However, if you have forgotten to take it and more than 6 hours have elapsed beyond the scheduled time, then skip the dose and take the next one as scheduled. Do not double the dose.

Q. Is Sizlac a habit-forming medicine?

No, Sizlac is not habit forming and there are no reports of withdrawal symptoms following its discontinuation. Sizlac may cause euphoria (patients may feel extremely happy and overwhelmed) in some individuals who may then take it merely for fun (drug abuse). Such individuals become psychologically dependent on this drug.

Q. Does Sizlac have any effect on fertility?

Sizlac has not been reported to affect fertility in males or females.

Q. Can I take Sizlac if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Though no potential side effects have been reported with the use of Sizlac during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is best to avoid Sizlac during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Q. For how long do I need to continue Sizlac?

Sizlac is generally used for long-term treatment. Keep taking the medicine as per your doctor’s advice and till you can tolerate the side effects. Talk to your doctor if the side effects bother you.

Q. What if somebody takes excess of Sizlac?

Excess of Sizlac may cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, seizures, shock, heart problems and even coma. If such a situation arises, seek emergency medical support in a nearby hospital.

Q. Is it safe to take Sizlac if I am on ritonavir therapy?

Be cautious if you are taking Sizlac while on ritonavir therapy. If you have liver or kidney problems and are taking ritonavir, the dose of Sizlac should be reduced. Inform your doctor before starting Sizlac.
