Sacrulose Syrup is used in constipation. It may also be used to treats and prevent complications of liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy).

How to use Sacrulose Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Sacrulose Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Sacrulose Syrup works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, which makes the stool soft and easier to pass.

Expert advice for Sacrulose Syrup

  • Avoid taking a Sacrulose for more than 1 week, unless prescribed by the doctor, as it leads to dependency on the laxative action to produce a bowel movement. 
  • Together with Sacrulose, fiber rich diet containing whole grain bread and cereals, bran, fruits and green leafy vegetables, is essential to maintain healthy bowel function.
  • A Sacrulose should preferably be taken at bedtime because it requires 6 to 8 hours to show impact.
  • Notify your doctor if you are on a low-sugar diet because the Sacrulose contains sugars.
  • Take Sacrulose after 2 hours from other medicines, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medicines.

Sacrulose contains lactose, galactose, and small amounts of fructose. Do not take Sacrulose if you have intolerance to these sugars.
