Roxol 50mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

How to use Roxol Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Roxol 50mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

How Roxol Tablet works

Roxol 50mg Tablet is a macrolide antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

  • Roxol will cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • It may cause an upset stomach. If this happens to you, take it with food.

Driving
Roxol 50mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Roxol 50mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Roxol 50mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION

If you miss a dose of Roxol 50mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Roxol is an antibiotic and belongs to the group of antibiotics known as macrolides. Roxol prevents bacteria from growing, by interfering with their protein synthesis.
Q. Can I take Roxol with food?
Roxol is to be taken on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before a meal. The Roxol tablets should be taken with good amount of water.
Q. Does Roxol treat streptococcal throat infection?
Roxol is used to treat throat infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. It is also indicated for other upper respiratory tract infections like tonsillitis and sinusitis. If you think you are suffering from a streptococcal throat infection, please consult your doctor as it requires proper diagnosis before the start of antibiotics.
Q. Can I take Roxol with codeine?
