How to use Roxitroy Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take Roxitroy Tablet empty stomach (1 hour before food or 2 hours after food).

Roxitroy tablet is an antibiotic. It stops the bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Expert advice for Roxitroy Tablet

Do not start or continue roxithromycin and consult your doctor: 
  • if you are allergic to roxithromycin, or to any of the other ingredients in roxithromycin tablets, or other similar drugs like erythromycin, azithromycin, or clarithromycin.
  • if you develop diarrhea with blood in stools.
Roxithromycin may cause dizziness when treatment is just begun. Avoid driving or using heavy machinery if you feel dizzy. Consult your doctor before taking this drug if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Q. Can I take Roxitroy with food?
Roxitroy is to be taken on an empty stomach at least 15 minutes before a meal. The Roxitroy tablets should be taken with good amount of water.
Q. Does Roxitroy treat streptococcal throat infection?
Roxitroy is used to treat throat infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. It is also indicated for other upper respiratory tract infections like tonsillitis and sinusitis.
