Interaction with drugs

Taking Rocurofix with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Thalidomide (Oral Route)

watch out for symptoms such as breathlessness, fatigue, drowsiness, sedation or faintness or vomiting and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may monitor and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Clindamycin (Oral Route)

Your muscles may remain relaxed or weak for a longer than usual time. Your doctor may monitor your recovery phase. Clindamycin may increase the effect of Rocuronium.

Amikacin (Injection Route)

Your muscles may remain relaxed or weak for a longer than usual time.

Carbamazepine (Oral Route)

Your doctor may monitor and adjust the dose of Rocuronium to promote faster recovery. Rocuronium may raise blood levels of Carbamazepine and its active form.

Rocurofix Injection is a medicine used during general anesthesia to relax the muscles, making it easier for doctors to perform surgery. It also helps with placing a breathing tube safely. It may be used in adults and children, including newborns.<br>
During surgery, your body needs to stay completely still so the surgeon can work safely. Rocurofix Injection relaxes your muscles, including the ones used for breathing, so you will be supported by a breathing machine until the medicine wears off.<br>
Individuals should not receive Rocurofix Injection if they are allergic to rocuronium or any ingredient in the medicine, or have had a serious allergic reaction to other muscle-relaxing medicines before. Tell your doctor before the procedure so they can choose a safer alternative.<br>
Yes. Conditions that may affect how the medicine works or increase side-effect risks include kidney problems, liver, gallbladder, or bile-duct disease, heart or blood-vessel disorders, fluid retention or dehydration, low calcium or potassium, high magnesium, nerve or muscle diseases and burns or obesity. If you have any of these, your doctor will adjust the dose and monitor you closely.<br>
Although they are uncommon, Rocurofix Injection can cause serious side effects such as severe allergic reactions (including sudden breathing difficulty, swelling of the face, or throat, or sharp drops in blood pressure), breathing problems (including temporary stopping of breathing, or apnea), chest tightness, or bronchospasm, and muscle weakness, or prolonged paralysis (especially in very ill ICU patients receiving steroids). These reactions are usually noticed and treated immediately during anesthesia.<br>
In rare cases, especially in severely ill ICU patients receiving long-term steroids, some people may develop muscle weakness called steroid-related myopathy after receiving Rocurofix Injection. Doctors will monitor strength and recovery after the medicine wears off.<br>
Some people may experience changes in heart rate or blood pressure, especially during surgery, after receiving Rocurofix Injection. These changes are usually mild and monitored closely by the medical team. Severe changes are rare.<br>
