How to use Ranx Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Ranx 1000mg Tablet at a fixed time.

How Ranx Tablet works

Ranx 1000mg tablet is an anti-anginal medication. It works by decreasing the oxygen requirement of the heart by relaxing heart muscle.

Ranx extended release (ER) means the pill is formulated in such a manner that the drug is released slowly over time and blood levels of a drug are more consistent. This has the advantage of taking fewer pills and also with a lesser gastrointestinal side effect.
Q. Do Ranx and trimetazidine act in the same way?
No. Both Ranx and trimetazidine are used for the treatment of angina but they work by a different mechanism. Ranx works by blocking late sodium current channel during ischemia and thereby lessens the intracellular sodium and calcium overload. This relaxes heart muscles and decreases the oxygen requirement. This helps to prevent angina. Trimetazidine works by improves glucose utilisation of heart cells through inhibition of fatty acid metabolism.
The researcher has studied Ranx in patients with non-ST-elevation coronary artery disease. It did not reduce the risk of death or recurrent heart attacks in patients, but it improves angina symptoms. It is approved for use in angina.
Q. Can I use rivaroxaban with Ranx?
Yes. Combining these medications can increase the blood levels of rivaroxaban and increase the risk of serious bleeding complications. You may need a dose adjustment. If you have kidney disease, you should inform your doctor before using rivaroxaban together with Ranx.
