Rantop 150mg Tablet helps promote the healing of stomach and intestinal ulcers and prevents them from recurring. It is also commonly prescribed to prevent heartburn and ulcers caused by the use of painkillers. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose and duration depend on your condition and response to treatment, so follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.


This medicine usually provides relief from indigestion and heartburn within a few hours, and it may only be needed for short-term use when symptoms occur. However, if you are taking it to prevent ulcers or manage ongoing acid-related conditions, your doctor may advise longer use. Taking it regularly can help prevent symptoms from returning. It is also used to prevent re-bleeding in patients with a history of bleeding peptic ulcers. It lowers stomach acid levels and allows ulcerated tissue in the stomach or intestine to heal effectively, reducing irritation and pain. This supports recovery and helps prevent ulcer recurrence when taken as directed by your doctor.
Treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux)
Rantop 150mg Tablet is used in the treatment and long-term management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, including cases with reflux esophagitis, to relieve symptoms and promote healing of the esophageal lining. It reduces excess acid production in the stomach, which helps prevent acid from flowing back into the food pipe. This eases heartburn, acidity, and discomfort after meals and improves overall comfort when used regularly as prescribed.

Rantop 150mg Tablet helps control conditions associated with excessive stomach acid production, including acid hypersecretory states such as Zollinger–Ellison syndrome, NSAID-associated gastric and duodenal injury, and stress-related mucosal damage in seriously ill patients. It is also used in high-risk situations to reduce gastric acidity for the prevention of acid aspiration during anesthesia. It works by reducing acid levels and protecting the stomach lining, reducing irritation and helping prevent acid-related complications.

How Rantop Tablet works

Rantop 150mg Tablet works by blocking histamine H2 receptors on the acid-producing cells of the stomach. This reduces both basal and stimulated secretion of gastric acid, lowering the volume and acidity of stomach contents. By decreasing acid production, ranitidine helps relieve acid-related symptoms and allows irritated or ulcerated areas of the stomach and esophagus to heal.

Taking Rantop with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Rantop 150mg Tablet would be effective only if used for the right indication in the dose and the duration as advised by the doctor. In case you do not find any change in your condition while taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor. Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.
Avoid taking aspirin and other painkillers used to treat arthritis, period pain, or headache. These medicines may irritate the stomach and make your condition worse. Contact your doctor who may suggest other medicines. Avoid coffee, tea, cocoa, and cola drinks because these contain ingredients that may irritate your stomach. Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Eat slowly and chew your food carefully. Try not to rush while having meals. You should stop or cut down on smoking.
Alcohol does not interfere with the working of Rantop 150mg Tablet. However, you should avoid taking alcohol as it may further damage the stomach, delaying your recovery.
Rantop 150mg Tablet starts working as fast as 15 minutes from when it is given. Its effect is seen to last all day or all night.
Rantop 150mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. It can be taken once daily before bedtime or twice daily in the morning and before bedtime, as recommended.
Rantop 150mg Tablet may have some serious side effects, but these are rare. These side effects may include hives, skin rash, itching, hoarseness, and difficulty in breathing or swallowing. Another serious symptom may be swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs. Inform your doctor in case you notice any of the mentioned symptoms.
There is limited data available on whether Rantop 150mg Tablet can be used for the long term or not, but it is a relatively safe medicine. You should take it for the duration advised by your doctor. Do not take over-the-counter Rantop 150mg Tablet for longer than 2 weeks unless advised by your doctor.
