Normin Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Metronidazole and Norfloxacin. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Norfloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
Normin Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).

Normin Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Normin Suspension is probably unsafe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Normin Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Normin Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Normin Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Normin Suspension is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.

Yes, the use of Normin can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water; Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.
Q. Can i take Normin while breastfeeding?
The use of Normin should be used with caution in nursing mothers as metronidazole passes into breast milk and could give the milk a bitter taste. Although it is not generally expected to be harmful, but you should always consult your doctor before taking the Normin.

The use of Normin should be avoided in patients with known allergy to any of the component or excipients of this medicine.
Q. Can i take alcohol while taking Normin?
Alcohol should not be consumed while receiving this medicine as it may lower the blood pressure and causes dizziness and lightheadedness.
Q. Can the use of Normin cause metallic taste?
Yes, the use of Normin can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by chewing sugar-free gum or mints, brushing teeth after the meals and by staying hydrated
Q. Can the use of Normin cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, the use of Normin can cause nausea and vomiting. In case, you experience nausea while taking this medicine, take it with milk, food or with antacids. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods. If you start to experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Try small frequent sips of the liquid. Talk to your doctor if you have persistent vomiting and signs of dehydration like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicines without speaking to a doctor.
