How to use Nmsd Suspension

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Nmsd Suspension is to be taken with food.

How Nmsd Suspension works

Nmsd Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Metronidazole and Norfloxacin. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Norfloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

CAUTION
Nmsd Suspension may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy

Nmsd Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Nmsd Suspension is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Nmsd Suspension may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Nmsd Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Nmsd Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Nmsd Suspension is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Nmsd Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Nmsd Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Q. Can the use of Nmsd cause dryness in mouth?

Yes, the use of Nmsd can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

Q. Can I take Nmsd while breastfeeding?

Nmsd should be used with caution in nursing mothers as metronidazole passes into breast milk and could give the milk a bitter taste. Although it is not generally expected to be harmful, but you should always consult your doctor before taking Nmsd.

Q. Are there any specific conditions in which Nmsd should not to be taken?

The use of Nmsd should be avoided in patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine.

Q. What if I don't get better after using Nmsd?

Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.

Q. Can I take alcohol while taking Nmsd?

Alcohol should not be consumed while taking this medicine as it may lower the blood pressure and cause dizziness and lightheadedness.

Q. Can I stop taking Nmsd when I feel better?

No, do not stop taking Nmsd and complete the full course of treatment even if you are feeling better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.

Q. What if I miss my dose?

Take Nmsd as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.

Q. Can the use of Nmsd cause metallic taste?

Yes, the use of Nmsd can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by chewing sugar-free gum or mints, brushing teeth after the meals and by staying hydrated.

Q. Can the use of Nmsd cause nausea and vomiting?

Yes, the use of Nmsd can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medicine. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.
