How to use N Gyl Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. N Gyl Kid Tablet is to be taken with food.

How N Gyl Tablet works

N Gyl Kid Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Metronidazole and Norfloxacin. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Norfloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

CAUTION
N Gyl Kid Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy

N Gyl Kid Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
N Gyl Kid Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
N Gyl Kid Tablet may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
N Gyl Kid Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of N Gyl Kid Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of N Gyl Kid Tablet is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
N Gyl Kid Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of N Gyl Kid Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Yes, the use of N Gyl can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

N Gyl should be used with caution in nursing mothers as metronidazole passes into breast milk and could give the milk a bitter taste. Although it is not generally expected to be harmful, but you should always consult your doctor before taking N Gyl.

Take N Gyl as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.

Q. Can the use of N Gyl cause metallic taste?

Yes, the use of N Gyl can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by chewing sugar-free gum or mints, brushing teeth after the meals and by staying hydrated.

Q. Can the use of N Gyl cause nausea and vomiting?

Yes, the use of N Gyl can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medicine. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.
