Uses of Myogard Tablet
Myogard 5 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure and chest pain (Angina).

How to use Myogard Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Myogard 5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Myogard Tablet works
Myogard 5 mg Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.

Lactation

Myogard 5 mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Myogard 5 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, faint, extremely tired or have visual disturbances. This may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Myogard 5 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Myogard 5 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Myogard 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Myogard 5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
What if you miss a dose of Myogard Tablet?
If you miss a dose of Myogard 5 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Lowering blood pressure reduces the chance of future heart attack & stroke.
  • It can cause ankle or foot swelling. Raise your legs while you’re sitting down and talk to your doctor if it does not go away.
  • A sudden drop in your blood pressure may occur, especially when you first start taking Myogard 5 mg Tablet. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
