Product introduction

Mylone Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take the medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better.

Mylone Tablet may lead to some side effects such as nausea, dryness of mouth, flatulence, and headache. To overcome any such side effects, it is advised to eat a healthy balanced diet and drink plenty of fluid. If any of the side effects get aggravated, contact your doctor. Before you take this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any preexisting medical conditions. Let your doctor also know all the medicines you are taking to make sure it is safe for you.

Diarrhea
Diarrhea is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements or loose watery bowel movements. It can most commonly occur due to an infection of the digestive tract. Mylone Tablet helps to treat diarrhea that is caused due to bacteria or parasitic worm infections. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.
Dysentery
Dysentery or amoebic dysentery is a parasitic infection of the intestines that occurs mostly due to intake of contaminated food or water. The symptoms include loose stools (diarrhea), stomach cramps and stomach pain. Mylone Tablet helps to treat this infection by killing the infection causing parasites. It relieves these symptoms and also helps you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

How Mylone Tablet works

Mylone Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, Diloxanide and Dimethicone. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging their DNA. Diloxanide is a luminal amoebicide which acts inside the intestines to kill the infection-causing microorganisms (amoeba). It is added in case of severe intestinal infections. Dimethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.

Quick tips

  • Mylone Tablet should be taken with or without food but at the same time every day.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Do not drink alcohol during or for 2-3 days after treatment with this medicine. You may develop nausea, vomiting, flushing and headache.
  • It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects.
  • Inform your doctor if you have liver disease. Your dose may need to be adjusted in severe liver disease.
