Minoz 100 mg tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.

How it works

Minoz 100 mg tablet is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

  • Minocycline should be given with caution in elderly patients with renal impairment.
  • The tablet should be taken at about the same time each day.
  • Do not give minocycline to children younger than 12 years of age.
  • Minocycline can make you sunburn more easily, avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds and wear appropriate clothing and use sunscreen.
  • Do not take iron supplements, multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, or laxatives within 2 hours before or after taking minocycline. These products can make minocycline less effective.
  • Do not take minocycline if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to minocycline hydrochloride, any other antibiotic from a group called tetracyclines or any of the other ingredients.
  • Do not take minocycline if you have been told that you have a condition called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) (body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue).
  • Avoid using minocycline if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Doctor’s advice should be considered in case of patients with following history of disease conditions: acute porphyria (disturbance of metabolism that can be seen as disorders of the skin or other organs); myasthenia gravis (weakness and rapid muscle fatigue).
