How Milrinol Injection works

Milrinol Injection is a vasodilator. It increases the level of a chemical messenger (cAMP), which helps the smooth muscles to relax. Thus, dilates the blood vessels for better blood flow into the heart. It also has blood thinning property.

Milrinol Injection may be safe to use during breastfeeding. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Driving

It is not known whether Milrinol Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Please consult your doctor.

Kidney

CAUTION

Milrinol Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Milrinol Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data suggest dose adjustment may not be needed.

Taking Milrinol with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your blood pressure closely.

Aminophylline (Oral Route)
