Methersafe Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, increase in blood pressure and seizure. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Generally, alcohol should be avoided while taking this medicine.

Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have ever had heart disease or you have high blood pressure. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works.

Driving

UNSAFE

Methersafe Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Methersafe Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Taking Methersafe with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Itraconazole (Oral Route)

Do not consume Methylergometrine with Itraconazole. Itraconazole may raise blood levels of Methylergometrine.

Ketoconazole (Oral Route)

Do not consume Methylergometrine with Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole may raise blood levels of Methylergometrine.

Life-threatening

Ketoconazole (Injection Route)

Do not consume Methylergometrine with Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole may raise blood levels of Methylergometrine.

Severe

Clarithromycin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Methylergometrine with Clarithromycin.
