How to use Markdryl Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Markdryl Syrup is to be taken with food.

How Markdryl Syrup works

Markdryl Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics: Metronidazole and Norfloxacin. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Norfloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Markdryl Syrup may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Markdryl Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Markdryl Syrup is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Markdryl Syrup may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Markdryl Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Markdryl Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Markdryl Syrup is not advised in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Markdryl Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Markdryl Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

  • Diarrhea can cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids to help rehydrate you.

  • Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations.

There are many underlying causes of Patient?s symptoms. Different cause needs different treatment. Specific treatment cannot be given unless we establish exact underlying cause. Final and perfect diagnosis cannot be done without doing clinical examination of patient. Please consult me or any other Paediatrician. will take detail history and will examine patient in detail. All information will be used to determine exact underlying cause of problem. Depending upon cause will give opinion and prescribe you treatment. At time may ask you relevant investigations if necessary. Patient may need antibiotics and/or other prescription drugs. It is mandatory for the customer to have a prescription for the prescription medicines he/she is procuring. Valid prescription cannot be given without diagnosis and clinical examination. Advice given without doing clinical examination can be imperfect or some time harmful to patient.

Q. Can the use of Markdryl cause dryness in mouth?

Yes, the use of Markdryl can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

Q. Can I take Markdryl while breastfeeding?

Markdryl should be used with caution in nursing mothers as metronidazole passes into breast milk and could give the milk a bitter taste. Although it is not generally expected to be harmful, but you should always consult your doctor before taking Markdryl.

Q. Are there any specific conditions in which Markdryl should not to be taken?

The use of Markdryl should be avoided in patients with known allergy to any of the components or excipients of this medicine.

Q. What if I don't get better after using Markdryl?

Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.

Q. Can I take alcohol while taking Markdryl?

Alcohol should not be consumed while taking this medicine as it may lower the blood pressure and cause dizziness and lightheadedness.

Q. Can I stop taking Markdryl when I feel better?

No, do not stop taking Markdryl and complete the full course of treatment even if you are feeling better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.

Q. What if I miss my dose?

Take Markdryl as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.

Q. Can the use of Markdryl cause metallic taste?

Yes, the use of Markdryl can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be reduced by chewing sugar-free gum or mints, brushing teeth after the meals and by staying hydrated.

Q. Can the use of Markdryl cause nausea and vomiting?

Yes, the use of Markdryl can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medicine. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to your doctor.
