Uses

Macrogen 400mg injection is used to prevent infection prevention for chemotherapy.

How it works

Macrogen 400mg injection belongs to class of drugs called granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). It acts as a growth factor and increases the production of white blood cells in the bone marrow.

Common side effects

Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Confusion, Diarrhoea, Dizziness, Shortness of breath, Fainting, Fatigue, Headache, Decreased blood pressure, Increased sweating, Itching, Loss of appetite, Loss of consciousness, Nausea, Rash, Feeling of cold, Stomatitis, Vomiting, Weakness

Expert advice for MACROGEN

• Tell your doctor if you are having asthma or other lung diseases, heart disease, myeloid (bone marrow) cancer, kidney disease, liver disease or are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy.
• You will be regularly monitored for complete blood count during therapy.
• Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
• Patients with pre-existing breathing disorders, fluid retention, heart failure, blood cancers,  lung malignancies should not take molgramostim.
