Lintran 600mg Infusion is used in the treatment of bacterial infections
It is used for short-term treatment of bacterial infections of skin and soft tissue, and lungs (Pneumonia).

Side effects of Lintran Infusion


Diarrhoea, Headache, Nausea, Vomiting.

How Lintran Infusion works

Lintran 600mg infusion is an antibiotic. It stops the bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Expert advice for Lintran Infusion

  • Do not take the medicine, if you are allergic to it or to any other content in the medicine.
  • Do not eat or have foods such as aged cheese or meat, soy sauce, pickled, fermented or smoked meat, sauerkraut, tap beer or red wine which may contain tyramine that might react with your drug.
  • Consult your doctor before taking this drug, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Do not use linezolid, if you have taken a  drug called MAO inhibitor ( like isocarboxazid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine )in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur.

Lintran 600mg Infusion may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lintran 600mg Infusion is probably usafe to use during lacta
tion. Limited human data suggests that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Lintran 600mg Infusion may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or af
fect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Lintran 600mg Infusion is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Lintran 600mg Infusion is recommended.

However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Lintran 600mg Infusion should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lintran 600mg Infusion may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Limited information is available on the use of Lintran 600mg Infusion in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
