Uses of Lancure Tablet

Lancure 600 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of severe bacterial infections. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections of lungs (Pneumonia), skin & soft tissues.

How to use Lancure Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lancure 600 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Avoid Lancure 600 mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Lancure Tablet works

Lancure 600 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Lancure 600 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Lancure 600 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Lancure 600 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Kidney
SAFE
Lancure 600 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Lancure 600 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
Lancure 600 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lancure 600 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Limited information is available on the use of Lancure 600 mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

  • Lancure 600 mg Tablet treats serious infections caused by certain types of bacteria.
  • Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.

Yes, the use of Lancure can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic which kills the harmful bacteria. However, it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea, talk to your doctor about it.
Q. What foods should I avoid while taking Lancure?
You should avoid taking large quantities of food that contain high tyramine in it. Foods that are fermented, cured, aged or spoiled contain high amount of tyramine e.g cheese, red wine, pickle, over ripe fruits etc. Consuming tyramine while taking Lancure can result in elevation of blood pressure, which may result in an emergency situation.
