Uses of Lactomide Tablet

Side effects of Lactomide Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Common side effects of Lactomide

  • Dehydration
  • Decreased sodium level in blood
  • Breast enlargement in male
  • Decreased magnesium level in blood
  • Decreased calcium level in blood
  • Increased blood uric acid

How to cope with side effects?

The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.

  • Coping with Dehydration
Make sure you drink enough fluids (not alcohol or coffee). Cooled or iced liquids may go down more easily. Eat moist food such as fruits, vegetables and soups. Use a moisturizing cream on your skin and a lubricating lip balm if your lips are dry.
  • Coping with Breast enlargement in male
Counselling and talking therapy can help you cope with anxiety and depression caused by this side effect. Talk to your doctor about medicines and procedures that may help reduce excess breast tissue.
  • Coping with Decreased magnesium level in blood
You will need a blood test to find out if the magnesium level in your blood is low. If your medicine is causing this, you may need to stop taking it. To help manage low levels, ask your doctor about taking a suitable magnesium supplement. Drink plenty of water and fluids to stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol and smoking as they can decrease the absorption of magnesium. Some foods contain higher levels of magnesium. These include almonds, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate and peanuts. In general, seeds, nuts, cocoa, beans, oily fish and whole grains are good sources. Talk to your doctor if the condition persists.
