Product introduction
Take Frutone Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with breakfast and/or lunch along with a full glass of water. Avoid taking it in the evening to prevent nighttime urination. For the best results, take the medicine at the same time every day and do not stop on your own, even if you start feeling better.
Continue to follow your doctor’s advice about dietary salt and fluid intake. In conditions like hypertension or heart failure, your doctor may recommend limiting salt, avoiding alcohol, and maintaining a healthy weight. Regular follow-up visits are important, as your doctor may monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels (especially potassium and sodium).
The most common side effects of Frutone Tablet include electrolyte disturbances, hyponatremia (low sodium level in blood), dehydration, and hypovolemia (decreased blood volume). Because this medicine increases urine output, you may feel thirsty or need to urinate more often. To reduce side effects, drink adequate water, avoid excessive sweating or dehydration, and do not use salt substitutes containing potassium unless your doctor advises it.
Do not take Frutone Tablet if you have kidney failure, severe liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy), high potassium levels, or low sodium levels, or if you are dehydrated. It is also contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to potential harm to the baby. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that may lower blood pressure or increase potassium levels, such as ACE inhibitors, potassium supplements, or certain painkillers (NSAIDs). Be cautious while driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur, especially at the start of treatment.
Uses of Frutone Tablet
Benefits of Frutone Tablet
Frutone Tablet helps in the management of resistant hypertension (high blood pressure) that does not respond to standard diuretic therapy. It helps remove excess salt and water from the body and prevents potassium loss. This helps lower blood pressure more effectively in patients with secondary hyperaldosteronism, a condition where excess aldosterone causes fluid buildup and makes blood pressure harder to control.
In chronic congestive cardiac failure, the heart struggles to pump blood effectively, leading to fluid buildup in the lungs and body. Frutone Tablet helps remove this excess fluid, reducing swelling (edema), breathlessness, and strain on the heart. It is especially useful in resistant edema associated with secondary hyperaldosteronism, where single diuretic therapy is not sufficient.
In hepatic cirrhosis, impaired liver function often causes fluid accumulation in the abdomen (ascites) and swelling due to secondary hyperaldosteronism. Frutone Tablet helps reduce this fluid buildup by removing excess salt and water while maintaining potassium balance and preventing further electrolyte disturbances. It is specifically indicated for resistant edema in patients with hepatic cirrhosis when conventional diuretic therapy alone is inadequate.
