Juflox M DS Syrup


Overview

Introduction

Juflox M DS Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics that effectively treats diarrhea and dysentery. It kills the microorganisms and treats the infection.

Juflox M DS Syrup is a prescription medicine that can be taken with or without food. Take the medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better.

Juflox M DS Syrup may lead to some side effects such as nausea, dryness of mouth, stomach upset, etc. To overcome any such side effects, it is advised to eat a healthy balanced diet and drink plenty of fluid. If any of the side effects get aggravated, contact your doctor immediately. In cases of severe liver or kidney disease it is advised to consult your doctor before you start with the treatment. It is strictly advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery while you are on the treatment.

How Juflox M Syrup works

Juflox M DS Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics: Ofloxacin and Metronidazole. Ofloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

The use of Juflox M is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to ofloxacin or to or any other excipient. It should also be preferably avoided in patients with history of any inflammation of the tendons (tendinitis), or tendon rupture seen with the use of ofloxacin or any other medicine which belongs to the same group (quinolone group) of antimicrobial agents and in patients with some neurological disorder.

Yes, the use of Juflox M can cause nausea and vomiting. Taking it with milk, food or with antacids can prevent nausea. Avoid taking fatty or fried foods along with this medicine. In case of vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Talk to your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, like dark colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination. Do not take any other medicine without speaking to a doctor.

Yes, the use of Juflox M can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.

Juflox M should be used with caution in nursing mothers as it can lead to serious side effects. You should always consult your doctor before taking Juflox M.
