It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Irovel 300 mg tablet at a fixed time.

Irbesartan(300 mg)


Irovel 300 mg tablet is used to reduce high blood pressure (hypertension) and in the treatment of kidney disease caused by diabetes in type 2 diabetes and hypertensive patients.

How it works

Irovel 300 mg tablet belongs to a class of drugs named as angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It acts on the blood vessels by blocking certain substance that is responsible for tightening of the blood vessels, allowing them to relax and pump blood effectively.

  • Do not change your dose or stop taking irbesartan, even if you are feeling well, as this may worsen your symptoms.
  • Use of Irbesartan may cause dizziness, light-headedness, or fainting; you should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery under such circumstances.
  • Irbesartan may cause a serious side effect called angioedema (swelling of the hands, face, lips, eyes, throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; or hoarseness). If you experience any such symptoms, inform your doctor immediately.
  • Before you take Irbesartan, inform your doctor if you suffer from kidney/heart problems or are being treated for diabetic kidney disease.
  • If you are or planning to undergo a surgery involving anesthesia, inform your doctor that you are taking Irbesartan.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken or might take any other medicines along with Irbesartan.
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
