Expert advice for ELDCEF

  • Do not take ceftizoxime if you had severe allergic reaction (severe rash, hives, difficulty breathing, dizziness, etc) to penicillin (eg. amoxicillin) or other beta-lactam antibiotics (eg. imipenem).
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe diarrhea, stomach pain or cramps, or bloody stools.
  • Do not discontinue ceftizoxime without doctor’s advice. Sudden discontinuation of ceftizoxime may decrease its effectiveness and bacteria may become insensitive to ceftizoxime.
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
