Product introduction

Dacoplice 15mg Tablet should be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. Take it exactly as advised by the doctor, as taking it in the wrong way or more than the recommended dose can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months to see or feel the benefits of this drug but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

Diarrhea, rash, stomatitis, nail inflammation, decreased appetite, dry skin, decreased weight, alopecia (hair loss), cough, and pruritus are some common side effects of this medicine. Some serious side effects that might occur which need doctor consultation include tiredness, itchy skin, yellowing of your skin, chest pain or discomfort, and changes in your heartbeat. The doctor may perform some blood tests before and after the treatment to check for liver or blood sugar levels.

Before taking it, tell the doctor if you are taking other medicines. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine; therefore, let your healthcare team know about all the medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Effective contraception by both males and females is important during the treatment to avoid pregnancy.

Non-small cell lung cancer is one of the major kinds of lung cancer, and it affects both smokers as well as non-smokers. Dacoplice 15mg Tablet helps treat non-small cell lung cancer and may be given alone or in combination with other medicines. It is a potent and very toxic medicine, and discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine. Avoid drinking alcohol while being treated with this drug and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dacoplice 15mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Dacoplice Tablet works

Dacoplice 15mg Tablet inhibits a protein, human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER), which may cause cancer cells to grow more quickly and spread to other parts of the body. This may help in limiting the spread of cancer.

  • Before taking Dacoplice 15mg Tablet, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications that you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc.).
  • After starting your treatment with Dacoplice 15mg Tablet you may be at risk of infection, so try to avoid crowds or people with colds. Report fever or any other signs of infection immediately to your doctor.
  • Drink at least two to three quarts of fluid every day, unless you are instructed otherwise.
  • To reduce nausea, take antinausea medications as prescribed by your doctor, and eat small, frequent meals.
  • To help treat/prevent mouth sores, use a soft toothbrush and rinse your mouth at least 3 times a day with saline water.
  • Eat foods that may help reduce diarrhea and take adequate rest.
  • Before taking Dacoplice 15mg Tablet, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications that you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc.).

  • Use a reliable contraceptive method to prevent pregnancy while you are taking this medicine and for a month after you stop taking it.
  • Monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking this medication. Inform your doctor if you notice symptoms of very high blood pressure such as severe headache, confusion, problems with your eyesight, nausea or vomiting.
  • It may cause serious bleeding problem. Inform your doctor if you get headaches, stomach pain or if you notice blood in your urine or stools.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Taking Dacoplice with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Cimetidine (Oral Route)

To take Cimetidine, ensure a gap of at least 6 hours before or 10 hours after taking Dacomitinib. Cimetidine may reduce blood levels of Dacomitinib.

To take Famotidine, ensure a gap of at least 6 hours before or 10 hours after taking Dacomitinib. Famotidine may reduce blood levels of Dacomitinib.
