How Butodol Injection works

Butodol 1 mg Injection is an opoid analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Butodol 1 mg Injection may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Butodol 1 mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
SAFE
Butodol 1 mg Injection is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Baby should be monitored for excessive sleepiness and weight gain.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Opioid analgesics, including Butodol 1 mg Injection, impair the mental and physical abilities required for the performance of potentially dangerous tasks such as driving a car.
Kidney
CAUTION
Butodol 1 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Butodol 1 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Butodol 1 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Butodol 1 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Butodol Injection?

If you miss a dose of Butodol 1 mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
