Introduction of Babygesic Syrup

Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup helps in relieving moderate pain and reducing fever. It effectively alleviates pain and helps to reduce fever. It is used in many conditions such as muscle pain, back pain, and toothache.

Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food. Take it with food if stomach upset occurs. Inform your doctor if you are also taking other medications containing paracetamol to avoid overdose. Please consult your doctor in case your pain or fever does not subside.

Vomiting, difficulty sleeping and constipation may be seen as side effects in some patients. Inform your doctor immediately if any rash or allergic reaction is observed while taking this medicine. Pregnant and nursing women should use it under medical supervision only. It should be used with caution in patients with liver and kidney disease or alcohol abuse. It is not recommended in patients with severe or active liver disease.

How Babygesic Syrup works

Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever.

Babygesic Syrup related warnings

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup Taking Paracetamol/Acetaminophen with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup is safe to use during pregnancy. Most studies have shown low or no risk to the developing baby.
Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, Babygesic 250 mg/5ml Syrup contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.

Hello, fever generally take 3 to 4 days to subside. Till then keep giving babysesic drops as required. If fever persist you can also give syp meftal P in appropriate doses For fever control.Tap water sponging can also be done.

Q. What if my child vomits after taking Babygesic?

If your child vomits in less than 30 minutes after having a dose of Babygesic tablets or syrup, give him/her the same dose again. If your child vomits more than 30 minutes after a dose of tablets or syrup, you do not need to give him/her another dose, until the next normal dose.

Q. When will my child feel better after taking Babygesic?

Usually your child will feel better after about half an hour of taking Babygesic.

Q. How often can I give Babygesic to my child?

You should only give four doses of Babygesic in 24 hours. There should be a gap of at least 4 hours between two doses. Do not give Babygesic for more than 3 days to your child without first talking to your doctor.

Q. Can I give Babygesic syrup to my child for cold?

Babygesic along with relieving fever also helps in controlling problems associated with cold such as headache and earache associated with cold. However, it does help relieve stuffy nose and cough for which doctor’s advice is required.

Q. Does Babygesic make babies sleepy?

No, Babygesic does not make babies sleepy, contrary to the common belief.

Q. Is Babygesic safe for children?

If used as directed by the physician, Babygesic is safe for children.

Q. Is Babygesic an antibiotic?

No, Babygesic is not an antibiotic. It works as a painkiller and as a medicine which brings down high fever.

Q. Can I give my child Babygesic and ibuprofen together?

Ibuprofen and Babygesic are safe painkillers which can be given to children, though both should not be used together. Instead, if you have given your child Babygesic and still he/she is feverish or in pain you could try ibuprofen instead, when the next dose is due.
