Direct the spray towards the sides of your nostril, away from the cartilage dividing the two sides of your nose. As you spray, breath gently and keep the head upright. Repeat the same process for the other nostrils.

    • Shake the bottle before using the medicine. 
    • Clean your nose thoroughly before using the medicine.
    • Insert the bottle tip into one nostril and close the other nostril.

    • Breathe out gently through your mouth and repeat the same process for the other nostril.
  • Avoid deep breathing as it will cause medication to go back to the throat and make it less effective.

  • Azevent Nasal Spray should be avoided in patients with recent nasal ulcers, nasal surgery, or nasal trauma.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Azevent Nasal Spray to help relieve allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling and rashes.
  • As compared to other similar medications, it is much less likely to make you feel sleepy.
  • Be cautious while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as it can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
  • Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication as it may cause increased sleepiness.
  • Stop taking Azevent Nasal Spray at least 3 days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.

Taking Azevent with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Moderate

Thalidomide (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms of Thalidomide side effects such as drowsiness, excessive sedation, tiredness, dizziness or slurred speech and consult your doctor if you experience them. It is advised to avoid driving or undertaking other tasks requiring skill and alertness.

Dalteparin (Injection Route)

Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time. Azelastine may reduce the efficacy of Dalteparin.

Betahistine (Oral Route)

Use Azelastine with Betahistine only if prescribed by your doctor. Azelastine may block the action of Betahistine.
