Aximac Tablet can be taken with or without food, but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefits. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The most common side effects of this medicine include high blood pressure, joint pain, and loss of appetite. Diarrhea, shortness of breath, can be serious sometimes so take medicine to treat it as prescribed by the doctor or stay hydrated. Your doctor may advise for regular blood pressure checkups while you are taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you notice a severe headache, confusion, problems with your eyesight, nausea or vomiting.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have thyroid problems, liver or bleeding problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

Liver

CAUTION

Aximac Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Your doctor may advise you to undergo lab or medical tests such as blood pressure, thyroid function, kidney function, liver or pancreatic function tests, complete blood counts, urine tests, blood mineral levels including sodium or potassium before starting this medication. Women of childbearing age should have a pregnancy test before starting this medicine.

Who should not take the Aximac Tablet?

People who are allergic to axitinib or any other ingredient of this medicine should not take Aximac Tablet. Talk to your doctor if you are not sure.

Does Aximac Tablet affect fertility?

Yes, this medicine may cause fertility issues in males as well as females. Talk to your doctor before starting your treatment to know about ways to preserve fertility.

I feel exhausted after starting treatment with Aximac Tablet. What should I do?

General tiredness/fatigue is a common side effect experienced during treatment with Aximac Tablet. You may need to adjust your schedule to manage fatigue. Take ample amounts of rest and do not indulge in physically exhausting activities. Exercise, such as walking, can help cope up with fatigue.

How do I know if I have developed thyroid problems after taking Aximac Tablet?

Regular monitoring of thyroid function is recommended before as well as during your treatment with Aximac Tablet. Your doctor will advise blood tests to assess the same. What is Reversible Posterior Leukoencephalopathy Syndrome?

Reversible Posterior Leukoencephalopathy Syndrome (RPLS) is a rare but serious neurological complication associated with the use of Aximac Tablet. It is characterized by symptoms such as headaches, vision problems, mental changes, seizures, high blood pressure, weakness, and swelling in the brain. This condition is reversible and symptoms subsides once treated. Consult your doctor right away if you experience any of these worrisome episodes while taking Inlyta tablets.

I have swelling in my ankles and feet after I started taking Aximac Tablets? What does this mean?

This medicine may cause side effects such as excessive tiredness, swelling of the abdomen, legs, or ankles, shortness of breath, or protruding neck veins. These are alarming and indicate chances of developing heart failure. The use of Aximac Tablet is associated with an increased risk of heart failure events and these symptoms must therefore be taken seriously and addressed at the earliest.
