AVil 50mg Tablet is also used to treat allergic conditions. It should be used as per the instructions of your doctor. The dose and how often you take it depend on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

The most common side effect of this medicine is sedation. This effect usually disappears after a few days if tolerance is acquired. Avoid driving or attention-seeking activity if you experience sleepiness after taking this medicine. If this side effect bothers you or appears serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. In some cases, it may cause dry mouth, so it is advised to drink more water, always carry sugar candy, or maintain oral hygiene.

Liver

CAUTION

AVil 50mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Interaction with drugs

Taking AVil with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Moderate

Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (Oral Route)

Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration or alertness until you know how the medicines affect you.

Moderate

Ketamine (Injection Route)

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations.

Moderate

Tranylcypromine (Oral Route)

Do not take Tranylcypromine with Pheniramine. If concurrent use is essential, talk to your doctor.

Mild

Betahistine (Oral Route)

Take Pheniramine with Betahistine only if prescribed by your doctor. Pheniramine may block the action of Betahistine.
