Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine is a combination of three medicines: Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine1, Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine2 and Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine3, which relieves acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers. Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine1 is an inorganic salt that neutralises the excess acid in stomach. Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine2 is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas. Magaldrate + Activated Dimethicone/Simethicone + Oxetacaine/Oxethazaine3 is a local anesthetic which provides faster relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. But, skip the missed dose if it is time for your next dose. Then follow your normal routine.
Q. Will a higher than the recommended dose of Merigel A be more effective?
No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having serious side effects and toxicity. If the recommended doses do not relieve your symptoms or there is an increased severity of your symptoms, please consult your doctor.
Q. Can the use of Merigel A cause diarrhea?
Yes, the use of Merigel A can cause diarrhea. In case of diarrhea, drink plenty of water or other fluids. Talk to your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration, like less urination with dark colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
Q. Can the use of Merigel A cause constipation?
Yes, the use of Merigel A can cause constipation. To prevent constipation, eat high-fiber foods like vegetables, fruits, and cereals. Drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly by engaging in activities like swimming, jogging or taking a short walk. Talk to your doctor about if persistent constipation occurs.
Q. What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Merigel A?
Keep this medicine in the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
