Holter Monitor Test For 24 Hours at Center

Holter monitor is a portable ECG device. It is used to monitor the electrical activity of the heart continuously for 24 hrs (duration as per the doctors instructions) even at home or work place. Its working is similar to an ECG machine. During the test, electrodes are attached to the chest and abdomen. These electrodes are connected to the Holter monitor. It records how your heart responds to electrical signals. This recording helps diagnose heart conditions like arrhythmias, bradycardia or tachycardia, ischemia among others. 

Doctors may recommend this test if you feel any discomfort doing your routine activities like exercise, walking, running or other routine work. It can also be used to check the functioning of a pacemaker. It is a non-invasive, painless and comfortable way of continuous monitoring of heart activity while doing routine activities.
