Know more about this test

The X Ray Cologram/Loopogram is a diagnostic test performed on the part of the bowel which is functioning in the place of the urinary bladder. When you have a malfunctioning bladder or don’t have a bladder, you might have to undergo a urinary diversion for rerouting the urine flow through an opening in your abdomen, in such a case this test might be advised.
At times, a section of the bowel, generally the small intestine, is taken out and repositioned for enabling urine flow from the ureters to the stoma. This part of the bowel is known as an ileal conduit. A cologram/loopogram tests the ileal conduit to determine if it is functioning just as it should. You can drink and eat as usual before this test is performed.
