Chlamydia Pneumoniae, IgG

Chlamydia Pneumoniae IgG test is done to detect the presence of IgG specific Chlamydia Pneumoniae antibodies in the blood. Chlamydia Pneumoniae IgG antibodies are produced in response to the infection caused by the bacteria Chlamydia Pneumoniae, that causes various illness in children and adults such as pneumonia, pharyngitis, sickle cell disease-associated acute chest syndrome, asthma, coronary heart disease, and Guillain-Barre syndrome.

The test could be done with a blood sample. The reference value for the Chlamydia Pneumoniae IgG Antibody test is 1:64. Values less than 1:64 represent negative test and lack of current infection while values more than 1:64 represent positive test and presence of current infection. Thus, this test aids in identification of various disorders.
