CECT Scan Right Femur (Thigh Bone)
A CECT Scan Right Femur (Thigh Bone) is an imaging technique that provides detailed information about bone and soft tissue structures in the femur region (thigh bone). It allows radiologists and physicians to identify and access various problems in the femur including femoral neck fracture, ligament injury, swelling, and sprain. In this, a scanner emitting series of X-rays are used after the administration of contrast dye material to highlight the target regions in the femur.
On rare occasions, the injected contrast material may cause minor side effects like stomach upset or diarrhoea. An abnormal CECT Femur Scan may indicate the presence of femur-related problems including abnormal femoral torsion (twisting of the femur), hip and knee osteoarthritis, and slipped capital femoral epiphysis (damaged femur plate and slip of femoral heads).
