CECT Scan Thigh

CECT thigh is a Contrast Enhanced Computerized Tomography (CECT) scan used to detect any abnormalities in the thigh region. In this diagnostic test, rotating beams of X-rays create 3-Dimensional and cross-sectional clear pictures of the thigh. A contrast media (a special dye) is injected to enhance the view and highlight the joints, bones, tissues, and underlying disorders.

A CECT scan is used to detect fracture or unexplained pain of thigh bone which a simple X-ray might not detect. It is also used to detect any type of infection, inflammation, injury of the bones, soft tissues, tendon, ligaments, or muscles in the thigh. Additionally, it is used to diagnose any deformities, osteoporosis, or degeneration of the thigh bone and any abnormal growth (tumor) in the thigh area.
